To access accommodations, you will need to pick up a sticker from the Accessible Check-In or Customer Service desk. There are two types of stickers, depending on your specific needs.
Sticker Type 1: This sticker gives access to a seating section reserved for attendees who need to be close to the front of the room due to a hearing, vision, or sensory processing disability, as well as individuals whose view may be obstructed due to height.
Sticker Type 2: This sticker is for attendees who need extra time to get to their seats, are unable to wait in lines, or prefer to limit their time in crowds. Attendees with this sticker type also have access to reserved seating, but it may not be at the front of the room.
We will have reserved, mobility aid accessible seating in all our programming rooms for attendees with access needs. You may bring one guest (without a sticker) to sit in this area with you. Seating in the MainStage will be split into two sections based on type of need, corresponding to the color of your sticker. Please note that some rooms may fill to capacity, so we cannot guarantee you a seat in every room. It is best to have some backup options in mind.
When lines form during the event, attendees who need extra time to get to their seats, are unable to wait in lines, or prefer to limit their time in crowds are not expected to wait in these lines. Specific plans for accommodating these needs often develop in the moment based on the layout of the lines and the spaces they form in, so please approach a staff member or volunteer for assistance in avoiding any lines that form.
Hearing, Vision, and other Sensory Needs
Specific information regarding captioning, ASL interpretation, and other accommodations will be available in the time leading up to the event. If you have specific requests for hearing, vision, and other sensory-related accommodations, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have preferred seating that may improve your experience, please come to the Accessible Check In or Customer Service when you arrive at Con of Thrones to receive a sticker (type 1).
Please note that we do not currently have an event-wide policy against strong scents, but we aim to keep the Quiet Room free of strong scents.
There will be a designated space set aside as a quiet room at Con of Thrones, which will be identified on the event maps. You are welcome to use this space if you need a place to get away from the crowds for any reason during the event. You are also welcome to come and go freely from the event as long as you have your badge.
We request that if you are intending to use the Quiet Room you do not wear any strong scents, so that the room remains a safe space for those with sensory sensitivities.
If you need personalized assistance, we do have an Aide pass available. This pass may be requested at the Customer Service desk and is free of charge. The pass holder of an Aide pass will be allowed to enter programming while they are assisting you, but they will not be allowed to attend any programming on their own.
Mobility Aid Rental
If you are in need of mobility equipment to assist you with getting around Con of Thrones, you may be able to rent a wheelchair, scooter, and other mobility solutions from Cloud of Goods. They will deliver directly to you at the event, your hotel, the airport, or any other place of your choosing. Book through this link to receive a discounted rate.
Your service animals and certified support animals are welcome at Con of Thrones while assisting you. Service animals must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered, unless these devices interfere with the service animal’s work, or the individual’s disability prevents using these devices. If that is the case, we require you maintain control of the animal through voice, signal, or other controls. Poisonous, venomous, and predatory creatures, including snakes, are not allowed, and neither are animals too big to be held, such as standard-sized horses.
First Aid will be available during all programming hours. If you need immediate medical assistance during the event, please ask any volunteer or staff member. We will direct you to the first aid station and/or escort you there.
